Tracey Hughes – Manager – Community Services
Tracey commenced working in the community sector in 2000 with Women’s services and then focused working within the ATOD field. Tracey has held numerous clinical and leadership roles in a wide range of ATOD non-government organisations, and after spending a few years working at a hectic pace at St Vincent’s Hospital Drug and Alcohol Services, in Kings Cross, returned back to Canberra and joined Directions as the Groups Development Coordinator in 2014 before moving into the Management role in May 2016. Tracey holds qualifications in Alcohol & Other Drugs and a Diploma in Leadership and Management. Tracey’s interest in trauma and its impact on people with substance use issues, lead her to complete an Advanced Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy in 2010.
Tracey would love to further support people impacted by trauma and substance use by running workshops with people and horses! But until that time comes and she wins lotto, Tracey loves working with the dedicated and compassionate people at Directions.
In her other life, Tracey enjoys swimming, travelling, cooking amazing vegetarian food and spending time with her family.
