Fiona Day – Manager Corporate Services

Fiona has over twenty years’ experience spanning the government, community and commercial sectors. After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) she gained valuable insights across a diverse range of working environments. However, she always returned to the community sector, where her true passion lies. It was this desire to work in a social justice setting that lead Fiona to return to further study, achieving her Graduate Certificate in Community Counselling.

Before joining Directions in 2008 as the Comorbidity Training Coordinator, Fiona was Program Manager of The Big Issue in Canberra. This role gave her greater insight into the issues facing some of the most marginalised people in the community and confirmed her desire to be “part of the solution”. These days, Fiona is Directions’ Manager Corporate Services, although she was seconded to project manage our organisation’s reaccreditation process, which was completed in May 2015.

Fiona gets enormous satisfaction from being part of an organisation that gives a voice to those who need it most and doesn’t mind playing second fiddle to the other Fiona (much).
